Paradise - How far is the ski carry?

Planning a trip to Muir this weekend and am wondering how far a skier will have to hike his (or her) skis. My bride wants to go along but doesn't like the skis on the pack thing. Good info may enhance marital bliss.

Kamtron, thanks for the update. The webcams show nothing but fog today.

Last week, we boot packed to Pebble Creek as the footing was firm enough and my skis are light.   We returned via the Golden Gate and I was able to ski to 150 yards of the lot where the was a short bare patch.  My partner portaged the bare patch and put ski back on and skied to 20 yards from the lot.

If we had come back via our ascent route -- there would have been at least two portages between Pebble Creek and Glacier Vista.

The Nisqually Chute was still in a week ago -- should still be do able.
