Ridge Road opened at 10:00 with dense fog and poor visibility in the am giving way to mostly cloudy skies and flurries in the afternoon. An inch of fluff on top of a supportive crust made for pretty good skiing in sheltered protected zones but the sun is taking it's toll on southerly aspects with thin coverage with areas of grass and scree lurking. Why the Park couldn't get an update of the road situation yesterday is a mystery. It wasn't until 1:00 or so that a recorded message indicated that the road was closed to inclement weather. ::)
A live person at the VC said that the phone system was down yesterday too ???
