March 30, 2019 Brian Head, UT was created by Zap

Our first visit and it was a 'smile' day. We spent the night in Cedar City, and it was a 40 minute drive to the area. There was no nobody on the road during the 12 mile climbing drive from Parowan to Brian Head. When we arrived 15 minutes before the lifts started (9:30 on weekends, 10 on weekdays!), we were 30 steps to the lift ticket window and just a few steps to the lift. We noticed a group of condos at the base near the different lifts. It was cold - about 20 degrees, no wind and sunny. The base is 9600' and the top of the only express is 10,970'. We skied the Giant Steps express, Roulette, The Dunes, Wildflower, and Alpen Glow. The two mountains are Brian Head Peak and Navajo Peak. The only backcountry terrain that we saw was around Brian Head Peak. It was Sunday and we bought day tickets for seniors, $45.each. No lift lines, cold powder, and sunshine - a nice day for cruising the groomers. The surrounding terrain consists of spectacular UT rock formations. ;)
