Big Sky - 2/15

The best 3 out of 3 day of the week. Probably the best day skiing this year, so call it a 3+.

Day started out overcast, mid teens, and 8 inches of light Montana new. We quickly discovered that was over a foot in the wind loaded areas. By 9:30, the clouds parted for bluebird skies until 1:30 when the wind picked up and clouds rolled in and out.

First run was untracked off the Challenger lift on our way over to our fav tree runs. Spent the morning cycling Thunder Wolf in the trees and hit several double diamond runs down through the trees with a bit of a traverse back to the bottom of the lift. The afternoon. We spent on Challenger, but finished the day on the far boundary of Moonlight Basin on Lone Tree with a really cool run-out back to Six Shooter for our return to the cabin.

We leave tomorrow morning knowing we skied this big resort wall-to-wall in 5 days. It will take me a couple weeks to edit all the video footage, but when done, I'll post a link here for those that have never been here.
