Feb 11, 2019, Mt Margaret, Snoqualmie Pass

Went up to W side of Margaret old growth for a look yesterday morning (Mon Feb 11), found up to 24-30 inches settled in open terrain up high (around 5k) with areas where it felt like much more (thigh deep trail breaking at one point). Steep W facing terrain triggered easily, big soft slabs. Bailed near the top of Margaret in relatively moderate terrain when we started seeing shooting cracks. Skiing was difficult at best down low angle safer terrain. Don't say it often, but might have been too deep out there. The rodeo to the SnoPark lot was equally as epic. Made it out of there in time to get off the pass before it closed. If anything, fun to see that much snow falling up on the pass! Stay safe out there everyone!
