2/9/19 Blewett Low Elevation

Put in a hard earned skin track over the lower half of Kings Ridge. Got one 300' nice section of spaced tree powder, but other than that it was a bust...Too much snow has melted off the south facing lower slopes, and there's still not enough in most low trees. Road was too deep to ski, but maybe using my track to pick up speed will work. Snow is very high quality. Someone should finish the skin track to 3800' and there will be good skiing there - but careful evaluation of avy risk will be necessary. I think the best steeper slopes around 30 degrees would be very touchy because the crust is very hard with no bonding of the new snow.

Road southbound was closed when I left at 11. Maybe they let you in partway?
