We had planned to ski at Kirkwood, but changed plans with the arrival of high winds and lifts ON HOLD. So instead, I made a right turn from hwy 88 onto hwy 89, crossed Luther Pass, and headed to Sierra-at-Tahoe. It was a sunny day with temperatures in the teens, light winds, and packed powder. We used our Powder Alliance passes. The area is the same as on our previous trips with wonderful steep lines and treed terrain. The area is just off US 50. On the north side of US 50 is the Desolation Wilderness, a back country skiers paradise. We have toured in this area for years.
