Germany - Austria Ski Recommendations? was created by Blizz Mountain
Will be in Germany on business and have 2 days to do some skiing. I'll be about 1 hr from Garmisch - Partenkirchen, about 1 hr 40 min for St Anton and 1 hr 45 min Innsbruck. I'm thinking of doing one day Garmisch (Germany) and 1 day either St Anton or Innsbruck (Austria) - All resort skiing. Does anybody have any recommendations/suggestions? Which would be best choice?

Ski one resort both days.
Hands down best is St Anton.
Moosewert, and the Krazy Kanguru, are the best apres- anywhere!

I would pick one and give it both days. You might be able to cover all of Garmisch in two days (one day at Classic and one at Zugspitze) but you won't come close in St. Anton. Highly recommend St. Anton.

Thanks all... looking like St Anton is the unanimous choice.

The expanse of the greater St. Anton/Ski Arlberg region area cannot be overstated. You could spend a couple weeks exploring the area and still not see everything. In total, this area makes Whistler look like Hyak. Have a great time!

Stanton is biiig. And an amazing drive through a very long tunnel if going there from the German side.
Remember, the Euros don't mark skiing hazards and such like we do. When I was at Stanton a guy skied off a cliff just off the groomed run. That's just how they hang... reasonable liability laws and such.

I always enjoyed Mayerhofen and the Zillertal Glacier but I can't recall most of it as I was younger and significantly more stupid...
