Spent the day rambling throughout bullion basin. Climbed to the top of bullion peak and found a nice 6-8" of fluffy snow over the harder rain crust, but surprisingly not much wind slab despite the strong storm last night. column tests showed a fairly consolidated snowpack. we were able to get movement on what appeared to be the post-xmas hoar layer, but it was stubborn and did not propagate. skied both shots off bullion (northeast and northwest, are there any local names for these runs?) which skied great despite dodging a few chunks of avy debris. we then skinned up and skied the w. slopes of platinum peak, and found a generally thinner layer or new snow with areas of cross-loading evident. Beautiful day out there!
