Keystone was just a few miles from where we parked our campervan, and it was a sunny day. The free parking lot is a typical Crystal-like parking lot where you can have a long walk, but Keystone is all level. The long walk is helped with "red wagons" to carry your ski/snowboard, backpack, and/or your kids. You can pickup a wagon from a corral in the parking lot and take it to the gondola in the River Run Village, and pick one up at the base for the walk back to your vehicle. Really nice when you have a long walk and a lot of gear and are tired from a great day of skiing.

The terrain is varied with Independence, Keystone, and Waiti Peaks. The base is 9280' and the summit elevation is 12,408'. We love Keystone. It has long, long runs on trails that wind through the "woods" as well as great tree skiing. The lifts stop at the end of the tree lines. Then the snowcat operation starts. Plus, the climbing operation also begins there for bowl runs. No shortage of bowl skiing. The trail map identifies the mileage to and along the top of the various bowls. We skied for a half day with no lift lines and no crowds. Keystone, Abasin, and Breckenridge are all within a 6-20 mile radius, and your Epic Pass covers them all (plus more).
