First day out on skis this season and it was a beaut! Pretty much a perfect day in Paradise...and a perfect day for playing hooky; bad dad, good dad, it's all about perspective... and prompted the question: "can you get arrested for skipping school?" "I don't think so... in this case they may even give you an award--for higher education." ;)  Conditions and forecast were hard to ignore; it may be a while before we get it like this again: stable recycled powder, sunny, cold, low wind, and exquisite alpenglow to top it off.

It ended up being an surprisingingly sharkless day too. Thanks to Carl for the parking lot itinerary revision before heading up.

I imagine with the cold it should be good the next two days as well--just need to sniff out higher sheltered and shadowed areas..

.
Now that's a proper education! ;)
Glad you and P got the goods. 8)

Nice pics, dad!  Kudos to Carl for sharing the love.

Fantastic, Stefan!

hey thanks y'all!

It was a bit of a shakedown cruise too with 'new' boots and skis for her so it went really well for all that--tho probably will be baking the new liners... had to stop a few times to completely take off the boots and recirculate the feet (brand new fat scarpa/intuition liners in tlt6 shells)

One thing to note re upcoming conditions is that before we even hit the parking lot we were blessed with a magical glitter fest beyond disco proportions... the sun refracting off giant hoar frost crystals. With new snow coming there will be pockets of instabilty, something to watch out for.
