With the snow at my usual late summer spots melting or melted, I was uninspired for a September ski. Aidan suggested Spider Meadow and I thought it would be as good (or bad) as anywhere else, so I agreed to tag along. It turned out way better than expected. New snow over the previous two days had erased any suncups and refreshed the snow surface. It was actually good skiing! We camped high above the waterfall at my new favorite spot. Fall colors are out. So are the hunters. (FIVE in spider meadow proper!) Cold night.

Picturesque trail in.

Thanks for the post Mike!  Great pictures, as always.  Especially as I'm sitting here chained to my desk.

Mike, sounds like we had similar conditions but you had an excellent campout and two days' new on old.
I enjoyed the pix of your ski buddy's freewheelin' freeheelin'.

Heels still free
Thanks for the beautiful pics, Mike, and as always, the STOKE
Bring it ON!
