Left Wenatchee hoping to find a little clean air, didn't have much luck. Drove through Winthrop, and it was nasty, 2 miles visibility, and like living on the end of a cigarette. Spent the night on Washington Pass and it was fairly nice when we went to bed but in the morning it was smoky there as well. Not sure what a normal day at the Heliotrope trailhead is like but given all the smoke it was crowded by my measure. The flowerers were absolutely perfect, would have loved to spend the night. Managed about a thousand feet of sun cupped soft snow, not bad. Huckleberries were in fair abundance, for nibbling along the trail.
