Suncupped on the snowfield, ranging in size from chihuahua to basset, mostly in the range of a small terrier*. Skiing was soft, but generally bumpy and felt like work. Cracks are beginning to show on the snowfield, earliest I've ever seen, adjoining Anvil Rock.
On the Paradise, ski quality improved, becoming fun and carveable on friendly suncups. Blue ice is now showing across much of the toe of the glacier, a huge change from nine days prior. Crampons may be necessary to cross the ice with continued melt. Crevasse management was essential but straightforward. Three carries on the way out, and many dodgy snowbridges over flowing water.
* When using the dog-sizing metric for suncups, the size is that which is sufficient to entirely hide the canine.

The canine metric for suncup measurement is more likely than Silas' women's undergarment metric to survive moderator scrutiny, although it's not nearly as titillating from a literary standpoint.
