After a week of warm weather, I was not holding out for the same conditions I had a weak ago. Word was there were over 20 skiers/riders skiing from the summit of Baker, but not a single person on the Heliotrope side. I have come to the conclusion that unless I am training on a closed course at a ski resort, training on the variable conditions I may encounter on this glacier is far more better than any resort day I had this year. It also helps the glacier is not too far from the trailhead thus allowing me to not expend so much energy on the approach. As to how conditions are on the Coleman side, not sure. However, it does look like a giant ice fall occurred some time last week covering the entire width of the climbing route.
