Skinned up from the Mt. Hood Meadows parking lot. Skirted the resort to the west side without problem. Saw one Ski Patroller kindly ask someone skinning up just inside the ropes to remain "out of bounds". Met a patroller at the top of the resort and skinned with him up the cat track to the top of superbowl. He was okay with us using that skin track at the top. Didn't need ski crampons until just above superbowl, and was able to skin with ski crampons until aprox 500ft elevation from the top of the Wy'east face. Used boot crampons, an axe, and a whippet, my partner was able to kick his way up with a whippet and snowshoes remarkably.

Great views into the crate of Mt Hood to watch people ascending the hogsback and pearly gates. Super fun steep descent. The snow softened up by noon for most of the route. Breakable crust with boots/crampons on the top pitch, but a little firm for the descent at the very top. Great corn turns from maybe 500 feet from the summit all the way down to the top of Heather Canyon. Highly recommend this descent if you are comfortable on 45-50 degree pitches.
Great trip report. It reminds Jill and I of when we skied the face. It was the end of the season so we rode the lift to the base. We were met by two ski patrollers who said it was okay to climb in ski the face. Skins with crampons to get up to the turnaround point. Steep steep steep terrain with perfect corn snow.
