We parked in lot 7 which is a "no cost lot", and we were the first ones there!. The lot gives you a 50 foot walk to the Excalibur gondola. BUT, the snow was deep and slushy at 8:30am and a few folks skied/boarded over to the gondola. We rode the Excelerator express through the clouds up to where the sun was shining. We skied to the Crystal Ridge express where there was 3" of fresh powder and no one was around. We skied untracked lines for 90 minutes. Yes, when we skied down to the base of the lift we had to ski down through the fog on some very firm areas for the last 200'. Next was the 7th Heaven express and the fresh powder there. We had fresh lines and the groomed areas were firm versus powder. They opened the Showcase and Horstman T-bar lifts, but the clouds were moving in around the Blackcomb Glacier. In the afternoon we skied down towards the Solar Coaster express where it was foggy and icy and became very slushy. We decided to save our knees and rode the gondola down to the midpoint and our parking lot. It was a great powder morning in the sun and ended with slush and snow flurries turning to rain at the end.
