April 11, 2018 Whistler

We started the day at Creekside gondola and entered the fog/cloud formation. On the Big Red express we entered the snow flurries and the wind. The Peak, Harmony and Symphony express lifts were closed for awhile. There was about 3'' of new powder and we moved around. This is the World Ski and Snowboard Festival week. Teams from around the world were practice racing with their coaches all around the Garbanzo express lift terrain. It was amazing the speed at which they blew by us. Yes, we soon moved to other parts of the mountain The freezing level moved down the mountain and the conditions kept changing. The upper mountain was powder, then it became icy down to the fog area below the Emerald lift where it became slushy. It was fun, and you just had to be flexible with 5000' of vertical and variable winter/spring conditions. No suntan cream required.
