South side of Stuart if you're curious as to what it currently looks like. Seems to me it's a little thin for this time of year.
Nice! Did you sled up there?  I heard on the news that the central Cascades are at 110% of normal snowpack. Should be a good Stuart season.

Thanks for the report, looks nice!
How far is the 9737 drivable?

Well then, there you have it!

Drove the snowmachines up to Esmerelda Basin. As of last Sunday there's snow on the road beginning at 29 pines. It's patchy for the first half mile, but pretty solid after that.

That mountain!! Thanks for the post :-)

That's like 10 miles down from the esmerelda trailhead? Best to wait until that road is melted out until going up stuart, or is there another way to get close to the south side in the winter?

Yup, 9737 is pretty exclusively the winter access route to the south side of Stuart. If you got a few extra hours, skinning the road isn't totally unreasonable and if you're lucky you might catch a bump from a friendly sledder.

Well....there is always the splendid x-county northside approach from Mtneers Cr & up & over the Stuart Glacier Couloir, or any of the other fruity routes. Just add time & calories.
