Stevens- Mon 4/2

The Stevens Pass highway was closed this morning for avalanche control and it didn't open until 9:20. That was the biggest line and we waited in all day.  The report said 15 inches of new and it places it was there.  There were some wind affected areas and some areas got scraped down to the ice layer fairly quickly, but for the most part, it all skied really well. The new snow was pretty doggone light.  There were a lot of powder pigs out so the untracked only lasted about an hour.  There were a lot of sneaky places that stayed good all day and the cut up crud was very skiable.  The visibility wasn't bad.  There was some fog and flat light, but that was counterbalanced by some nice sucker  holes, so the visibility wasn't that much of a factor.  All in all it was a real bonus spring powder day.
Snow= 1  Crowds= 1  Visibility= .8. So a 2.8/3 day

My son beat the Avy work so he called it a 3 of 3 Stars!
