3/17/18 Whistler Blackcomb

Due to some ski travel, I hadn't skied Whistler since Mid December. It was very nice to be back. Started late and went right over to Blackcomb for a couple of laps on Glacier Chair which were quite hard. A friend from the East Coast really wanted to do The Bite and Overbite so we essentially side slipped some of the nastiest badly frozen steep bumps I've skied in years. Took the t-bar up to the Blackcomb Glacier and found the snow better, but not great. Made it up to Horstman Hut for a quick lunch while it started snowing hard. Snow stopped and we worked our way down a firm and oddly bumped Packalolo. Zig Zag then led the way down. Got back up Whistler at 3:25 and hustled
Over to Peak but it had closed at 3:00. Skied Big Red again, and then finished up on Franz's. Lower Franz's was extremely smooth and really the best run of the day. The bottom softened nicely and was made for high speed turns to end the day. Stayed cold all day, and was mostly hard. Will investigate the north faces of Whistler
Tomorrow hoping for better snow...Really a great day with perfect weather and visability and 5 minute lift lines leading to 5 mile runs...Just spoiled.
