Decided to get up high today to try to avoid the soup that we figured existed down low. We got to the gate at 9:02 and it was open; some folks we talked to said it opened closer to 8:30. 3 hours up to camp muir, calm and sunny weather. There was some graupel to be found along the route, and in some places pockets of what seemed like .5-1" of new snow. Surprisingly small amount of people on the snowfield for such a beautiful sunday. spent some time at muir before descending down and finding the entrance of nisqually chute. great spring skiing all the way down to where it gets flat, we probably hit it a tad late. 30 minutes/1 hour earlier would have been prime in my opinion. It goes all the way to the bridge but you're gonna wanna wax your skis the night before!
Skied it today too - way too late, around 2:30. Slush and thigh burning sensations from the top to the bridge and passed huge table sized pinwheels. Melting fast. Gate was open at 8:30, but we dilly dallied with the car shuttling and only got started up at 10.

I thought the snow was pretty good, considering we are in a big warmup after > 1 foot of fresh Thursday night! Snowfield had not-too-sun-kissed powder, and the schmoo was luckily only the last 1-2 k to bridge.

Strong work- 3 hours to Muir! I thought about it but thought it might be wind scoured from the easterlies .

That's a a killer photo Mr Kamtron: Gib ledges, NIsqually stuff, dude skiier, I could go on....nice one!

Woof, no kidding, they'd have arrived at Muir an hour and a half ahead of me!
