YoYo and I skied two days at the Lake Louise resort. It's very large resort with a decent lift system. There hadn't been any new snow in a while one the first day -- but the cold temps (-12C) preserved the snow well, so even at the end of the day when we took a groomer back to the base the well traveled groomers were not icy. Skied almost exclusively the "double black" runs off the "backside" -- these runs benefited from low traffic compared to the groomer runs and "single black" bump runs and from wind drifted snow. Even in mid-afternoon I was able to find fresh snow by choosing tight chutes. But the fresh snow was only a few inches deep and it was highly wind effected -- definitely feeling the bumpy base -- no bottomless snow encountered.

Still a fun couple of days on the "Mountain Collective" pass. Stayed at the Lake Louise Alpine Center HI Hostel -- which is quite good.
