Spent 5 days at Sun Valley last week. The most snow and the softest moguls I have ever seen there. Of course all South aspects were sun affected but on north facing Exhibition I could push my pole all the way down to the grip. Did a day of BC on Mt Durrance north of town. 2500 foot run down a ~30 degree east facing bowl. Snow was a week old but still soft allowing us to sunk in to about mid calf to knee deep. According to the Patrol the snowpack is unusually stable. My good friend Gordy dug and analyzed a pit at the top of this slope and confirmed this.
