A beauuuutiful day out between Baker and Shuksan. Felt like spring with a lot of snow on the ground. My first time skiing out there and WOW. Amazingly stunning expansiveness! The snow was light and DEEP, handle-down, my pole did not bottom out in most spots!

We toured up to Herman Saddle, had a short but sweet run to Iceberg Lake, back up and over for another go, and then we headed up and around for one of the steeper Blueberry Chutes (north facing) The snow was DEEEEEP!! Did I mention that? I'd like to blame my poor steep powder performance on my poor boot fit (at the shop now!) but it was probably more due to my poor technique.

A few pockets of wind slab on milder terrain, and some wind affect seen on Table Mountain's slopes, but no other observations of instabilities -- some other skiiers we talked to had been skiing steeper slopes on Herman with the same observations.

Anyway...Amazing day, great company, I will be back.

Pics were taken. They were good. Use your imagination...
