March 1-3 2018 -- Whitewater, Nelson

YoYo and I enjoyed two days on lifts inbounds and one day sidecountry touring at Whitewater. 0cm new the 1st day, 2cm new the 2nd day, 7cm the 3rd.   Lots of wind moving snow around on lift-served days and a "considerable" avalanche forecast from possible windslab. Calmer winds and more new snow on the touring day.

Found enjoyable snow is various areas .  The resort does have a relaxed feel to it.  Chairs are all fixed grip -- so snow doesn't get tracked out super quick.

Also did a touring day on the 3rd -- they sell a $25 CAN single ride ticket.

We rode the Silver King chair and then toured to the radio tower on top of "White Queen" and then skied down SE aspect slope to 5 mile creek bottom.   The 1st 100ft or so you could feel the wind crust underneath, but below that it felt bottomless and very surfy.   Did a 2nd lap before skiing the trees back to the parking lot.
