OK, it's not really back country at I-90 X63 and 2500-3000 ft elev, but it's my first real day skiing after hip fracture at Mt R last Feb, it was really fun to be out zooming around javascript:grin() , and there aren't any other 2/4 reports here, so I'm counting it.
Windy drive up the west side, but the east side was calm, with snow falling straight down. Poking poles, there were about 18 inches of wet, rained on snow down to solid snow. Temps around freezing. New snow started falling about 10 AM, getting colder with heavier snowfall by the time we left around 12:30 PM. The new was making the skiing much more nice than the wet stuff, and should be great tomorrow. Go east!
