Gate opened 10:25am (groan) 4 skiers total that we saw and a tight group of senior snowshoers, Regine ,Andy Ken and Myself. Featherweight Regine broke trail down road and up Mazama in the fluff while I and Andy being heavyweights broke the underlying soft crust. Ken finished it off with a flourish and we gained Mazama ridge. 6-8" fluff over a soft crust covering a bunch. Skiing down we never hit the soft crust, Loose sluff slides in steep places ran over the crust . We stuck to lower angle mostly making repeated use of our uptrack. Maybe 3" more during the day Outbound we passed the gate at 4:59 with a patrol car waiting to close shop. Snowing all the way down to Ashford ,
Track in up Mazama ridge and up through edith basin courtesy of the snowshoe group .
No Nuns this time.
