What Silas said. I'll just add that we shouldn't have been so surprised at how good it was having checked telemetries and Pass reports ad naseum.
14" to 18" in the open between 4000' and 5200'. 4" to 8" under canopy depending on tightness of the canopy. In the trees edges scraped the crust regularly but still skiable. Very light uncohesive snow in the open was deep enough to bridge the crust. Sluffs on some steeps gained some momentum but mostly harmless. No real distinct layering within the storm snow and a good bond to the underlying crust. For falling at near freezing temps we were surprised at how uncohesive the storm snow was throughout. Telemetry showed big west wind overnight but we saw little evidence of transport where we skied off the ridge lines. SE slopes and west slopes. Ridgelines were scoured at times.
Below 3700 it got real warm in the afternoon mashing the snow to potatoes a bit, but no trees were offloading and the sun never shone.
Oh, lots of hidden and not so hidden creek holes, brush patches, and baby trees to dodge still.
Great day with Sarah, Tom, and Tommy.
