Hurricane is having an excellent year. 24" of fluff made up the top portion of the 84" on the ground just above the bottom of Maggies. Kudos to the road crew to get the road open and pull the chain requirement just after a two foot storm. It as been a while since the stars lined up like that for me on that road.
Breeze scoured ridge lines and cross loaded some exposed higher slopes. I sent one small crack out on the up, near the ridge, otherwise sticking to more sheltered terrain, some quite steep, was pure hero pow.
Note, word I hear is gate is shut, till DC gets back going again.

Well, didn't you get an amazing treat! I agree that it was good work on the part of their plowing team.
Did they work extra hours knowing it was their last paid day for a bit? ::)
Here's a fun scenario:
-The shutdown lasts through Sunday, so nobody rides the Ridge this weekend or next week;
-it snows most of next week as forecast;
-the gub'mint gets running in time to plow the road for Friday the 26th;
-a few lucky folks get deep deep snow within a few yards of the car 8) 8) 8)
