Great day at Yodelin @Stevens pass. Mid to high 20's, sun breaks, some snow flurries, and a lot of untracked. 3-5 inches on temp damaged layer out of the parking lot and up the road. Nothing consolidated so poles were punching through the whole way up. Lots of holes and trees and shrubbery up the road - still a bit of base needed up there but not bad. Snow got lighter and better over 4K feet - maybe closer to 4.5K. One ahead of us laying down a track. Saw a total of 4 out there today. Someone dropped towards the road at the summit and reported good turns. We backtracked to the grove of deadwood just below the summit and had fantastic turns. We then shot off the ridge to skier right that delivered the goods. Veered into the trees where quality wasn't as good but still decent. The split-boarder with me got in all sorts of trouble in the small trees below the ridge - lots of obstacles and holes and deep snow. Snow was pretty good in the next ridge on skier left. We rolled through the woods a bit more and then hung a left and skinned back up to the main trail near the bottom cement lift ruins. Boarder was not happy until we skinned back up. No elevation at the bottom and post-holing up to waist. More obstacles and shrubbery on the way back down the road and snow was super sticky by the afternoon. Still a beautiful day and great skin up. The 20 great turns made it worth it.
