January 1, 2018, Source lake

Attempted Snow Lake Divide to celebrate the new year but didn't get much beyond source lake.
Started around ~10am with a partially full upper lot at Alpental
Decent number of folks traveling uphill (estimate 20+), mostly snowshoers.

Lots of debris at source lake, but just above that a couple of inches of still soft powder on top of an ice crust.
Clear but overcast heading up, fog set in above snow lake but heard from others on the route that it cleared up again at snow lake.

Cut our trip short due a combination of swinging further west than we had planned before heading up towards snow lake and a jacket that had gone missing unbeknownst to its owner in our group (jacket and belongings recovered)

Turns we did get above source were nice and fluffy, and then the track out was a fast and fun shot modulo the stop and go on some of the flat areas.

Will be back to actually complete the route in the future, but still got to ring in the first day of 2018 w. turns so can't complain (too much)
