Had a nice tour up and around the Valhalla area, no shortage of people but still plenty of room to roam. As reported by others the dreamy powder, has been topped by an crust. It was skiable and from our experience less noticeable on northern aspects. We entered via the northeast side of the creek and that was fine, we came out via the south west side and that was horrible. The skin track was locked in to logs to cross the creeks and it was not too good. There were plenty of people skiing the heck out of the slopes of Lichtenburg. We gave it a pass, and skied the slopes above Valhalla it was very nice. Dug a pit and found the same results as last Wednesday nothing to reactive, in the top meter and one half, I'm still wondering about that lower transformed layer but it's buried quite deep now, about two meters of snow in the lake area.
It all just felt sketchy. I'm glad we found fun skiing in the trees.
