Stable snow, blue skies once we were above the clouds, and joyful turns with good friends made today's tour up Red Mountain near Snoqualmie Pass FANTASTIC!!!

Rainier, Glacier, and Baker were all out in their finest forms. (So were the Snoqualmie bunch.)

And now there's a skin track! 8)
Edit: skin track turning into boot pack toward the top...

Only a minor bit of loose dry/sloughing while skiing the face.


Did y'all encounter the freezing fog crust layer on your tour?

Oops, didn't see your post! Probably not applicable now, but yes, on some of the south-facing slopes as we skinned up, we encountered an unsupportive crust with some hoar frost and it definitely could have been the freezing fog.
