Skied the NW couloir earlier this month. In an attempt for some long missed adventure with m friend Charles Francis.
We took the traverse approach, in ok condition. It'll go.
Up the white salmon, pretty chill, booted up winnie's slide.
We intended to ski down the North Face, but upon scoping, very very icy for the first 300 ft. So we bailed to the NW couloir using a photo of Shuksan I had taken the day before.
Skied the lookers right of the hanging glacier, on a thin ribbon of snow. Snow quality was excellent, corning up at the top in the sun, then into windcrust and protected powder. The cliff traverse was icy and required a boot across using crampons, then all the way down we went!
If you heard any hootin and hollerin, or some raven calls, that was us!
