Alex and I got a good hike and impressive avalanche show in the morning, before hitting the lifts. Some great unstable layers near Alpental on Friday. Rutschblocks going at R3-4, but with some impressive acceleration into the pit (see photo on Alex's blog). Shovel shear was also easily releasing the snow at the level of the crust (2 feet down).
