Finally got a chance to ski green mountain after being turned around by a fallen tree on the road last year. We were able to access the TH in a mid sized SUV with 6-8" of fresh snow on the road. Conditions seemed great for the tour. It did seem like most or all the snow was from the recent storm so not many old layers. Certainly not below 5000'. Really good powder and fun skiing for a first day of the season - made difficult by a cloud that chased us all day and the looming sharks. Most of us attempted to ski the trail out once it hit the trees, some with more success than other, but all of us with some free base grinds.

Cool pics...looks awesome...good steeps and deep too!

Huh?  When were you up there?  We were there on December 2nd....although we did not go for Green Mountain...we went for 5988 which is SW of Green Mtn.  We the first to drive to the trailhead and we had the only tracks made by our vehicles to the trailhead.  We were on snowshoes....We saw no one...and we saw no other vehicles even on the way down.  Do you mean December 3rd?  Just trying to see how I am crazy....

Thanks, correct we were there on the third.  Made the update.  Your car tracks proved helfpul, but clearly some good snow fell overnight.
