12/1: Skins at top of Silver Fir

Found a pair of BD skins in their bag at the lift on top of Silver Fir today. I left them there assuming the owner will remember where he/she left them, when you get home with that sinking feeling after looking in your pack.
I'm happy to pick them up for you tomorrow when I'm up there again if needed.

How was the coverage / snow conditions up there?

The coverage is pretty good. But unfortunately there's a breakable rain crust that made the skiing pretty unpleasant. Hoping this evening's snow makes for nicer conditions this weekend.

I was there on Saturday. A couple I met was thinking about taking the skins down and posting on Cascade climbers. I don't know if they actually took them as I left first.

Wow the conditions sure improved on Sat and Sun. I saw those skins again Sat morning, did not look on Sun.

I'm curious what the group thinks about "lost and found items" and best practices. Grab the item or leave the item? The process I went through when I found the skins was that they had obviously been purposely placed (then forgotten) by the owner under the lift, and the owner would remember where they were left - facilitating retrieval. Had I found them randomly on the slope I think I would have grabbed them, and posted about it here. Googles, gloves, a ski, a pole?
