After all the heavy rainfall, they still have a great base even at the White Salmon base area. The snow did have high moisture content, but the lack of crowds helped to keep the snow from getting really choppy or bumped out. I'm sure after the next storm or two, there will be much more options in terms of where to ski at this area. They had chairs 3 through 8 open. The main runs were well covered with only an occasional brush with some rocks or hidden roots. The lines under both chair 5 and chair 6 were still very marginal and were roped off. The new chair 7, which I think is an electric powered chair, is a little quicker than the old chair 7. Conditions over Austin Pass were well covered over the main runs, but there were areas where it was still bony, especially on steeper aspects. Overall, snow coverage is much better above about 4500 feet.
