Alpental road was not plowed after last nights snowfall, so we bailed to Summit West for a few laps. No grooming occurred, tho one snowcat made a few runs up and down Little Thunder and Pacific Crest. We hit no rocks, weather was overcast, snowdepth was 16" at 3000' and 28" at 3700'. It was heavy but smooth and consistent snow. After lunch we headed over to Alpental with a Subaru and found the least adventuresome skiing up Sessel toward Lower International. The snow was slightly deeper than at West, but the terrain more bouldery.  It appears the lifts will not run before the forecast Thanksgiving warmer weather.
Prevailing wind direction at the pass for the day? OSOSNO has SE (140 moving to 120), OSOALP wind measurements are "bad".

Thanks for the TR -- keeping TAY alive, Wild-man  :).

Quick lap on international this morn. Dense, surfy powder. Winter has arrived! May all freeriders be safe out there.
