Split-boarded to Great Scott Bowl from the top Alpental parking lot, via the winter trail & the 2 chutes from Source Lake. I skiied from (&to) the car.

There's 2-3'of heavy, wet NW snow in the valley & it's good coverage (no bushes) from Source Lake, it will make a good base methinks.
Very heavy going both up & down, so I strightlined the bump-field in the chute & had some fun.

Thanks for the report! :).

wow!  pleasant surprise to hear Snoqualmie has good enough coverage for touring this early.

bump-field in the title, Snoqualmie style! :)

Should be even better by the weekend! ;D

Bold to go to go back in there this early... I'm glad it payed off

Deep snow above source lake today. Storm slab moving around near snow lake saddle. Adventure skiing down low. Not sure how to post photo from phone, so here:

Short notice, but anyone want a partner for a similar itinerary tomorrow?  Ideally I'm looking for Seattle partner. I live in the Central District south of Swedish Cherry Hill, ~10 min from I5 and I90 and do not have a car. I can use a car share to rendezvous off Rainier near I90. If you can pick me up, I have a hot tub for a post-tour soak ;)  About me: 4th season backcountry skiing in the Cascades and have been to the Alpental backcountry a few times; Avy 1 in 2015; strong skiier; decent fitness; usually have let others manage Avy observations, so want to do more of that myself; map geek; have an airbag, delorme, and Matt Schonwald's Snoqualmie guide.
