Went to Paradise with the hopes of road opening. Waited until noon in Longmire lodge until front desk informed us the road would not be opening today. Jumped in the car and started to consider options and white pass came up. Drove Forest rd nf-75 (sketchy) to randle..Arrived at white pass with 30 to 36 of fresh snow. Snowed all day. Nice skin up to top of lifts and the slopes are filled in with not many land mines below . Powder day 1 on nov 5 and the season begins !
Why take FS-75 instead of Skate Creek Rd?
Same road I think but I may be wrong. I bet it will gated after last weekend. Saw a couple of cars in the ditch.

FS RD 52 aka Skate Creek Road runs from Kernahan Road (between Nisqually Entrance to MRNP and Ashford) to Packwood, paved all the way. FS RD 85 runs from Kernahan to 47 to Randle, first few miles paved, then gravel and in not great shape. FS 84 runs from 52 to 47 to either Randle or to rejoing 52; all gravel.
I suspect you took FS RD 52 to its junction with US 12 in Packwood.
