I thought some people here might enjoy this. One of the geologists at the Park made a time lapse from the Camp Schurman webcam. I can't recall the exact install date (late June I believe). We took it down Sept 12. There's some data gaps but the precip-free summer yielded a pretty cool series of images.

So are you saying thats ~2.5 months of imagery? Pretty amazing to see that all these glaciers actually are moving.

what Mike Rolfs said times two. My family and I summited 7-2-2007 and the Emmons Flats looked like a football field, then. A month later, a Camp Schurman mora.gov photo made the Flats look like the Grand Canyon. The guy we were climbing with would not let us unrope till we were standing on rock in Schurman - Seth's post graphically shows why.

Thanks for posting the time lapse. A group of us, backcountry, tele and snowboarders had our tents of to the right. Brings back memories. ;)

The webcam was put up on June 27:

which is a bummer; was hoping to see the snow cave we dug on June 24!  Definitely no tents on dirt when we were up there.

very cool. Impressive that no one dabbed in front of it all summer, too.

Would be rad to see one of Nisqually Glacier over on the other side.

Amazing! It's easy to view this mountain from a distance day after day and think of it as rock-solid - maybe even taking it for granted. But this time-lapse reminds me why I've never lost my fascination with this beautiful, dangerous and ever-changing landscape. We are lucky to live near it.
