June 25, 2017, Washington Pass - SKI FOUND
« on: 06/26/17, 11:55 AM »

We found one ski on the way to the Kangaroo Temple on Saturday. It seems like it was there for a while since there is some mild rust on the edges and bindings. See the picture below.
I brought it back to Seattle since there is no actual trailhead nor ranger station there and the fate of ski would be unknown if left aside the road where a lot of people stop by to take pictures. The approximate location of the found ski is 48.510895, -120.636154.

How were the conditions?

The snowpack was quite soft even in the morning due to significant warming in the last couple of days. A lot of holes between the rocks and over the streams. We were not on skis, but some people skied on the east side down from SEWS.

Check with North Cascades Mtn. Guides . They had a couple of avalanche accidents in that area with lost equipment a few years ago. It might be Jeff Wards ? But then again its a popular spot now .  X
