June 22, 2017, Coleman Glacier
« on: 06/22/17, 05:26 PM »

We started from the Coleman Glacier trailhead at 7am and took an hour to get to continuous snow at 4700'. We used ski crampons for a couple hours then only skins to 8700' where the elevation and breeze made for stiff snow requiring ski crampons again for us. Two skiers heading down told us the upper 2000' was chilly with tooth chattering skiing so we ate lunch and skied down in great kernel corn 8700-7700', then slightly mushy snow back to 4700' and the hour trail hike out. We felt no need for the rope, harnesses, and prusiks we had in our packs. We likely would have used our boot crampons on the summit hike from CD col.  Tomorrow's forecast is for warmer and calmer weather, likely a fun summit ski.

You were correct, corn on Roman Wall was creamy on Saturday.  Waited to 11:30 to ensure maximum corn.  Mat @BCAGUIDES delivered.
