Saturday was an easy walk from Helio trailhead to solid snow lookers right of hogsback ridge at 4,800 ft. Smooth hero corn from 7,200 to 5,600 where it starts to get trodden by booters and a bit runneled. Looks like there will be a short break in the continuous skin/ski at about 5,400 in the next week. We heard from other parties that above about 8K it was icy-nasty on the Coleman.

To avoid cabin fever, which can set in quickly in Glacier, Wa., we went scouting into the mist and rain pointing from the Yellow Aster trail head up the road toward twin lakes. Large snow drifts block the road at the Aster restroom. We skied the road out to 4,200 ft after finding very deep snow, rain, and fog at the lakes. Above the lakes should offer good skiing for quite a while this year; I don't see the road melting out for 3-6 weeks.
Thanks for the beta!
