Yikes! Best wishes for a complete heal. The Baker 'biler last week and now this. Funky glaciers on the volcanoes this year or what?

Hot weather with a less consolidated snowpack than average presumably makes for weak bridging in places. If she skied into an open crevasse then just another case of poor decision making like the snowmobilers. 100' fall, wow, glad she's ok.

Anyone have detail on who it was? I was climbing Friday and crossed a river on the Glacier Basin Trail with my dad that matches the group description, planned route, and timing of the ascent/descent. They said they were all instructors at Crystal, if that helps. Hope she recovers quickly and has many more adventures in the future.

A close friend of mine was one of the climbing rangers who pull her out, and spent the night with her. She's damn lucky, that's for sure!
This is a good reminder to never, EVER, let your guard down whilst skiing / boarding down a glacier. I've had several very close calls with crevasses myself, and I see plenty of people casually skiing down crevassed terrain without looking over blind rolls, skiing fast in "no fall" zones etc..
Be careful everyone!
