May 20, 2017 Timberline

Timberline opened at 8am and 2 other old guys and I are the first loaders on the Stormin Norman lift. We are surprised the groomed surface is “hard”. Overnight there was a lot of wind and everything setup. The “terrain park” as closed until it softness. I ran into a Ski Patroller who is resting the boundary pole. I ask if the terrain of Magic Mile had softened. “Not yet” Next stop the Lodge and drink some coffee and let the sun work the slopes. After 90 minutes, the Magic Mile is soft and fun top to bottom. Palmer terrain is still frozen. Wait more... The weather is in control when you chatter down the slopes or have fun and grim to the base. Skiing is a changing game.
