The parking lot is full. I parked at the “maintenance” lot which is the spot for the locals. With my pass, I park and walk 30feet and I am on the snow and skate down to the Stormin Norman lift. The snowboard crowd is there. I get to Magic Mile and work the edges before the slop arrives. Then Palmer is the place. There is a twin snow cats groomer but the fun is off piste. From the top I skied beautiful untracked snow with my fat skis. Yes, the fat skis cut thru the snow and I cut perfect lines from the top to the base of Magic Mile. Jill and I ski this area every spring and it was still there. The ski race folks are on the lookers left of the Magic Mile but no goes future out. I have my backcountry gear but my lift pass and cycle time.
