We just got home from our OR and CA trip and we needed to beat the rain. I had a couple of hours before Jill's physical therapy session she overdid it a bit with her new hip! Central was quiet, like no one was there. The Alpine trail has coverage top to bottom, but some areas are opening. The conditions are spring cream. My interesting find was an ant farm in the middle of Alpine trail. Go figure...
There were a number of ants crawling on the snow at summit west too. Even in the middle of the open slope with quite a ways to the nearest opening or tree. What do they do... crawl up through the snow from their colonies down below?
